Nonprofit Compensation & Benefits Study

Leadership Council is delighted to welcome back VonLehman CPA & Advisory Firm - now Dean Dorton as Presenting Sponsor of our 2024 Nonprofit Compensation & Benefits Study. They have sponsored this biennial study since 2018. Data gathering will begin in February from nonprofits in our three-state region and the study will be available in May. We will also hold two HR-focused presentations coinciding with the launch and release of the study.

When it is done, the complete study is available for free if you have submitted a response. Nonprofit organizations in the region were sent an individual link to the survey on Feb. 26. If you have questions about the survey or need your link, please send an email to

You may still purchase a copy of the 2022 Nonprofit Compensation & Benefits Survey, with data from 140+ regional nonprofits, representing 5,500 employees.

This comprehensive survey is a bit more extensive than others as it provides regional data points -- very important and useful for benchmarking.

  1. It includes both compensation AND benefits.
  2. It has a comprehensive list of job descriptions (70 of them) -- other surveys have general categories.
  3. It’s only $150 for Members of Leadership Council and ERA, or VonLehman clients or $300 for all others. Other less comprehensive surveys are sold for much more.

NEW data collected in 2022:

  • We broke down salary information by gender for executive roles across the participating non-profit organizations, and we found some interesting results!
